
Prof. Fred Witjes is affiliated with the Urology Department at Radboud University Medical Center. He specializes in urological oncology, or cancer of the bladder, kidney, prostate, or testicle. Thanks to its own urological research lab, his subgroup can combine fundamental scientific research, clinical diagnostics, and various treatments (such as surgery, immunotherapy, and chemotherapy) with decades of treating patients who suffer from wide range of treatments for bladder cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and kidney cancer. He treats patients with urological tumors and chairs the urological tumor working group. His research interests include translational and clinical research in bladder, prostate, and testicular cancer. He is a urology resident. He chairs the Dutch and European bladder cancer guidelines, among other publications. He also serves as a reviewer and editor for a wide range of urological and oncological journals. His involvement and leadership of numerous studies and projects have resulted in numerous lectures and over 500 publications, reviews, and book chapters.
