Ran is a prominent R&D leader with over two decades of experience in the field of medical device development. With a proven track record in steering multidisciplinary R&D teams, Ran has played an instrumental role in planning, management, design, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies across various medical specialties. His expertise includes development of active implantable devices, surgical instruments, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment tailored for Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, and Laparoscopy. Through his visionary leadership, he has consistently driven the development of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and making an impact. Before joining CAPS MEDICAL, Ran held the position of VP R&D at Nano Retina, leading he development of an intraocular retinal implant restoring vision to patients who lost their sight due to degenerative disease. Prior to Nano Retina he held several R&D leadership positions in the medical, food and semiconductors industries. Ran holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
